I kid you not, November 21st is False Confession Day in the US. Check out some ways to celebrate this random day of celebration.

In case it's helpful, below are the topics covered in this post:

About This Day

Unfortunately, I could not find any information online about the founder/creator of this random day of celebration. However, it is apparent that this day was created with pranksters and jokesters in mind.

The goal is to tell a lie or bluff and see how others react to it.

How to Celebrate

The most popular way to celebrate False Confession Day is by telling a false confession, bluff, or lie.

While it may be fun to trick someone through misdirection, be wary of the negative implications that may stem from a false confession. Avoid telling a lie that could result in legal complications.

A false confession could make others laugh. You could tell a joke as if you were telling someone a story about an event from your past. As you are speaking, others may believe it to be a true story until you deliver the punchline. If delivered well, you could get others laughing about your false confession for the rest of the day.

I personally love games that require me to give a false confession to mislead others lightheartedly. Such games are harmless fun (assuming that you are not playing with sore losers or know-it-alls).

Two Truths and a Lie is good way to give a false confession in a social group setting. I often used it as an ice breaker for team meetings, trainings, or small conference sessions I delivered.

The goal is for you to tell others two statements that are true about you and one statement that is false. The others then must guess which statement was a lie. It is a good way to learn something new about someone else.

BS is a card game that requires every player to bluff at some point as they place playing cards face down on the table. Cards are placed down in order from Aces to Kings. The first player to get rid of all cards in hand wins.

A player may not have the right cards necessary to place down on the table on their turn, but skipping is not allowed. For example, if it is your turn to discard tens, you must announce how many tens you are placing down onto the table. No tens in your hand? Then you must bluff and hope nobody challenges you.

If another player yells, "BS," then you must flip the cards you just placed down. If you were not lying, the challenger collects all cards from the table's pile. If you were lying, then you collect all cards from the table's pile.

What's Next?

While giving a false confession seems like a fun thing to do today, I will not participate in False Confession Day. However, you do you.
