How a Neighbor's Dog Got a "Leg Up" on My Dog

Reminiscing about a "pee" game that I witnessed two dogs play.

Does your pet play weird games with other pets? My first dog, Shadow, often played a "pee" game or competition with a neighbor's dog. Their last game resulted in a messy end.
In case it's helpful, below are the main points covered in this post:
The "Pee" Game

My first dog, Shadow, and a neighbor's dog, Freddy, played together off leash most weekends on the apartment complex grounds. Unlike Shadow and other neighbor's dogs, they didn't chase, rough house, or whatever else normal dogs did for fun. Instead, these two weirdos peed a lot.
The dogs greeted each other by touching noses (Shadow was not a rear-end greeter). Freddy would then walk somewhere, pee on something, and wait for Shadow to do the same. This cycle would continue until Freddy, a small Jack Russel Terrier, dried out.
Shadow was a much larger Black Labrador Retriever mix. He did not dry out as quickly as Freddy did. When Freddy realized he dried out, he would yip and attack Shadow's neck before retreating to his apartment door.
Freddy's owner and I always watched with confusion and intrigue. She was the one who suggested that Freddy was competitive and challenged all male dogs to a peeing competition. He always got huffy when he lost to the larger dogs.
This weird "pee" game went on for a year.
The Last Game

One Sunday morning, I meant to see the neighbor before she headed off to church. She was about to move away with her fiancé and unborn baby. It was her last weekend at the apartment complex.
Fortunately, my neighbor and her fiancé were letting Freddy out to potty before heading off for the day. She wore a beautiful sundress (with pockets!) that went down to her heels and a new pair of dress shoes. She was proud to show off her outfit to me.
As usual, Shadow and Freddy greeted each other by touching noses. Freddy then walked away to pee on a weed. He moved aside to let Shadow pee on the same weed.
As usual, Freddy peed on something and waited for Shadow to do the same. They peed on flowers, rocks, bushes, trees, and trash.
Freddy stepped into the parking lot. My neighbor looked concerned at first because Freddy never wandered more than a few feet from her.
My neighbor's concerned look transitioned into a look of shock after Freddy peed on her car tire. He moved aside to let Shadow pee on the same tire. I was shocked because it was unlike Shadow to pee on a vehicle.
The fiancé stopped my neighbor from rushing to the parking lot to grab Freddy because he wanted to see how far it went. It was his first time seeing this weird game in-person.
Well, the dogs ended up peeing on all four tires. My neighbor told her fiancé that they were going to the car wash after lunch.
Freddy walked over to her person. He stood by her left leg. He raised his leg. He peed. Pee got onto her dress, leg, stockings, and dress shoes. Did I mention the dress shoes were new?
My neighbor and I were shocked while her fiancé struggled to breathe from laughter. I expected her to scream, but she quietly turned to look at Shadow.
Freddy had moved aside and was also looking at Shadow. Shadow walked up to her leg and sniffed her. I thought Shadow was going to pee on her, too. Instead, he looked up at her and whined. Shadow walked away and sat by my side.

Game over. Freddy won.
I apologized to her out of sympathy. She, red faced at this point, glared at Freddy and her fiancé.
Her fiancé was on his knees with one hand on the ground and another around his stomach. Tears fell from his eyes, most likely because he felt sad about what happened to his significant other and not because he was about to black out from excessive laughter.
My neighbor then turned to look at me. I do not know why, but I thought she would be mad at us. She looked at Shadow for what felt like hours. She broke her silence to say that Shadow was a good boy. She said that Shadow knew when to stop, unlike her [serious of words not meant for kids' ears] dog.
We exchanged nods. She, Freddy, and her nearly dying fiancé headed towards their apartment. I overheard her say they were skipping church because there was not enough time for her to shower and change.
Shadow never played the "pee" game with another dog.
What's Next?
Fortunately, my Rascal and Lucy play 'normal' dog games. They like to rough house and run amuck. Lucy loves tugging and fetch. However, I sometimes think about the "pee" game with a smile.
