My Daydream June 2026 Prime Day Haul

My dream wish list (and a few things I actually got).

Unlike past Prime Day sales, I only bought one item. However, I thought it would be fun to share my wish list items plus a couple items my dad bought.

In case it's helpful, below are the main points covered in this post:

The 1 Item I Purchased

Funds are tight this year, so I am avoiding unnecessary purchases. (My medical bill from last year's ER health scare is finally paid off!) With that said, I did splurge on the Casfuy 2-Speed Dog Nail Grinder.

I wanted to buy this weeks ago after reading numerous positive reviews online. My small dog, Rascal, hates having his nails trimmed. I believe the pinching pressure of traditional nail clippers cause him much discomfort. I am hopeful that a grinder will ease his nerves.

I decided to wait and see if it would be on sale during Prime Day. It went on sale on day one and I immediately bought it.

The item arrived two days after I purchased it. I know it will take time for my dogs to become accustomed to it. I am slowly introducing it to them.

I managed to grind one of Rascal's nails last Sunday before he pulled his paw away. The lowest speed setting worked quickly on his nail. I assume the other speed setting would work best for my large dog's nails.

Oh! It is quiet. Not silent, but quieter than our old nail grinder I bought from a local pet store years ago. The sound does not bother the dogs, but the vibration will take some getting used to.

8 Dream Items I Wanted to Purchase

Since I enjoy online "window" shopping, I continued looking through deals and making a short list of things I would have purchased if I had a couple hundred dollars to spend. I narrowed my dream items (wish list) to eight items.

1 - Tablet Pen Nibs/Tips

Because I draw digitally several times a week, I go through pen nibs often. I have a few nibs to last me several months, but it would have been nice to buy a new discounted set ready for whenever I need it. It would beat buying a set for full price when I need to change out my last nib.

2 - Dog Ramp

Rascal is a senior dog. He is slowing down, sometimes wobbly, and hesitates to jump off the couch. Fortunately, he jumps onto the couch with ease... for now.

We have steps, but Rascal refuses to use it. My large dog, Lucy, uses regularly it even though she could easily step onto and off the couch with ease, so it was not a wasted purchase.

Rascal will use ramps. We have several ramps my late dog, Shadow, used because of his arthritis. However, they are too long for use in my small living room. A smaller ramp just high enough to reach the couch cushion should fit my small space and allow him to get off with ease.

The Gardner Transformable Pet Stairs and Ramp seemed like a cheap and sturdy option for Rascal. If it wobbles, Rascal will not use it. I think I could find a way to secure this item to the floor to prevent accidental wobble and slippage while in use.

I only hope it will support Lucy's heavy weight of eighty pounds even though it is not rated for her weight. She is weird enough to use it even though she does not need it.

3 - Portable Watercolor Sketchbook Set

I watched several Lightwish Portable Sketchbook Set reviews over the past few months. I liked the compact sketchbook size, the binder for easy paper refill, and empty paint palette.

While the product is marketed for watercolors, I wanted it for my gouache paints. Traveling with this set would take up less space than packing my paint tubes, sketchbook, and paintbrush(es) for a trip. Of course, I would still pack a collapsible cup and cloth for drying/cleaning my brushes.

I love my SCHPIRERR FARBEN Watercolor Travel Kit and have no plan to replace it anytime soon. Instead, I would use the Lightwish item for gouache paints. It may be more convenient to travel with this instead of carrying multiple tubes of paint and a separate paint palette.

This item was listed as a lightning deal on day one.

4 - Wool Kit

I enjoy needle felting, but I am running low on many wool colors. I bought the Woolbuddy Felting Wool Kit before and have nothing bad to say about the quality. Unfortunately, the sale price is higher than the retail price was two years ago.

This item appeared as a lightning deal on day two or three.

5 - Slippers

I wear slippers around my house. I do not need new slippers, but I liked the look of the Snoozies Animal Slippers that appeared as a lightning deal on day three. The sloth design was my favorite, but I liked most of the available designs.

6 - Crochet Book

Now that I decided that I will not give up on crocheting, I keep an eye out for books containing patterns I would want to create. The Crochet Cute Critters book consists of twenty-six amigurumi patterns had a high rating.

I would crochet these amigurumi animals for my dogs, family members, and friends. I would consider crocheting some for animals in the local humane society. I want a reason to crochet more cute toys, and this seemed like a good enough excuse.

7 - Another Crochet Book

I once saw a video review of the Brochet crochet book and thought it would be fun to crochet all thirty weapons. I really want Lucy to have soft crochet weapons she can run around with.

I can imagine the strange looks (and hopefully some smiles) on people's faces if they saw Lucy carry a crochet medieval flail through the lobby of a hotel and down a hall to our room!

My nephews may also enjoy crochet weapons to attack one another with. I can also imagine the elders in the family becoming annoyed by such "childish toys." All the more reason to make and gift crochet weapons.

8 - 'Wheels'

Rascal loves joining Lucy and I on our two-mile morning walks. However, he usually only walks a quarter mile to the park and back home.

Small Dog in a Backpack
Small Dog in a Backpack

I carry him in a backpack on our long walks. I put him in not long after we got to the park and let him out before we left to head home.

There is nothing wrong with the backpack. I love our K9 Sport Sack! However, it feels uncomfortable when Rascal gets comfortable enough to go limp and start leaning to one side. It always feels like he is going to fall out despite being properly restrained in the backpack.

When I was ill last year, I did not have the strength to carry the backpack. My shoulders (and entire body) were sore. An alternative way to haul Rascal would be nice.

It would be convenient to have wheels to haul him on some walks. Not only could I haul him, but I could also haul whatever we need for a picnic at the park including a blanket, jug of water, and dog treats.

A dog stroller is out of the question. I believe I would be embarrassed to haul him around in one because I have never seen anyone use a stroller for their dogs in this area. I know that is a stupid reason to not consider a stroller, but my anxiety may keep me from using it around town.

A wagon cart with wheels, on the other hand, is something I would feel comfortable using. Several people use wagons to haul their sports equipment, fishing gear, and super young puppies around the park.

It was a wish list item for my dogs when my first dog, Shadow, was unable to take long walks. I can imagine Lucy hopping in for a ride if we walk the longer distance to the nearest pet store.

A ride-on car with remote control would be a more fun way to haul Rascal around. It was also a wish list item for my dogs years ago.

Rascal would be the stylish dog at the park, especially if he wears his goggles. He could also ride around with a plush animal to keep him company and minimize his anxiety.

RC Crawler with Toy Strapped to the Top
RC Crawler with Toy Strapped to the Top

I love driving RC cars. This is just a giant-sized RC car. The right model could work "off road" meaning I can drive it onto the grass out of the way of people and pets walking on the sidewalk.

Is it necessary? Of course not. Is it cheap? Of course not. Would I realistically buy something like this? Of course not.

Would the attention it draws from strangers trigger my anxiety? Of course. It may lead to panic attacks.

But using this could be a fun way to haul Rascal on our walks. And if it brings a smile to people's faces, then my anxiety is a minor problem I would need to learn to deal with.

Well, I can dream, right?

2 Items My Dad Purchased

Packages at the Door (Media from Wix)

I normally would not write about things my dad purchased for Prime Day, but he spoiled me this year knowing I chose not to buy anything other than the nail grinder.

No, I did not ask for any of the items he bought and gifted me. However, dad spoils me rotten sometimes. I do not believe I deserve to be spoiled. But he still spoils me despite my older adult age. I love him.

1 - Portable Watercolor Sketchbook Set

Dad asked if I was buying anything this year. I told him the nail grinder was it. I wanted to avoid non-essential purchases this year.

Dad knew I checked lightning deals throughout the days for fun. Again, I love online "window" shopping. I looked up reviews and decided if something was worth adding to my wish list.

Dad looked over my shoulder while I was reviewing the Lightwish item. He asked questions about the item and I answered him. I did not think much of it.

I was shocked when dad handed me a package after it was delivered the next day. He remembered the exact item and size I had up on screen. Dad said he purchased it when it was listed as ninety-five percent claimed.

I opened the package and looked at the contents. Everything looked good, but I am curious to see if the 3D printed palette works well with my gouache paints. I have not used it yet. I do not want to fill the pans until my next trip.

2 - Blu-ray DVDs

I did not look at listings for the Wicked or Wicked for Good Blu-ray DVDs during Prime Days. I did not mention it at all during Prime Days.

However, dad knew I enjoyed watching the movies (I rented and watched them back-to-back some time ago). I sometimes listen to the soundtracks while doing chores around the house. He figured I would not mind owning the DVDs so that I could watch them whenever I wanted to. He is not wrong.

The DVDs will not arrive until next week, but he went ahead and told me so that I could plan a day for a "watch party" with my dogs. Lucy actually watched the movies with me. She loved seeing the animals on screen.

(There are no links to the DVDs because I am not sure what dad got me exactly. Regular Blu-ray? Blu-ray 4K Ultra HD? SD cards of poor quality theater movie footage from a shady man named Frederick with a questionable Amazon sales account? Who knows?!)

What's Next?

I will continue working on getting my dogs accustomed to the nail grinder. I am also looking forward to using my portable sketchbook set. If I setup a picnic for the Fourth of July, then I will fill the wells with gouache and paint a picture before fireworks start. If not this weekend, I hope to use it later this summer when I visit my mom.

If you are interested in any of the items I shared, consider waiting for them to go back on sale or search for a cheaper alternative that fits your needs.
